Daniel

Yoong

The multi-talented Daniel, grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and loved music ever since he was little. He started playing the piano at the ripe age of 4 but the piano alone wasn't enough to satisfy the hunger for more music knowledge, thus began his quest to start learning the guitar on his own at 12, drums at 13, bass at 15 and violin at 17. He later graduated from International College of Music and the renowned Berklee College of Music. He currently works as a music director and session musician, while pursuing his solo artistry.

His first EP "T.I.N.Y." was released in April of 2010 and got major attention in the local scene. Following that success, he began touring and has been gracing the stage ever since in South East Asia. Drawing inspiration from bands like Paramore, The New Regime, CCM bands (Hillsong, Bethel, Jesus Culture), and artists like Israel Houghton, Earth Wind and Fire and many more alike, it is no mystery why Daniel's solo work is said to sound like a mix of Rock, R&B with Jazz inflections.

After 4 years of juggling college and being on the road, Daniel finally took a break to write and record (and produce) his second album entitled "First Love" which was released in July of 2016. The single "Dreaming" has gone viral within just two days upon release. Daniel and his band did a minor tour in New England followed by a major tour in South East Asia and Australia following the release of "First Love" late 2016-early 2017.

Daniel has also toured with and played on albums with acts like Gabriel Lynch, the JUNY brothers, Steve Thornton, Army of Three, Altered Frequency, Modesta, Izzy Marcil and more.
